The Nintendo Switch 2 arrives this Thursday with news that will interest Pokémon players. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, titles released in 2022, have received a patch that enables 4K resolution and stable 60 FPS performance. The update resolves graphical and fluidity issues that have negatively affected the games since their launch.

Despite being well-received by players, the titles faced persistent criticism regarding crashes and visual glitches. Now, with the new console, the expectation is for a technical experience closer to current standards.

New generation of consoles focuses on fixing old mistakes

The Switch 2 arrives on the market with the mission of overcoming the limitations of its predecessor. One of its promises is to eliminate bottlenecks that hinder popular games, as was the case with Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. In initial tests, the improved performance shows a visible evolution in environment loading, combat, and overall movement.

Nintendo has released several patches over the past two years to try and fix the most serious problems. However, none of them have managed to deliver the desired stability. With the hardware change, Nintendo seeks to regain the trust of players who expected more from the series' technical performance.

Visual enhancements transform the Paldea experience

With the new update, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet feature sharper graphics and smoother gameplay. Open areas, which previously caused lag, are now rendered with greater definition and smoother movements. The use of the Nintendo Switch 2's new graphics chip ensures fast transitions and stability even in the most intense battles.

The difference is noticeable within the first few minutes. Animations that previously suffered from abrupt cuts now run without interruption. The elements of the scenery gain depth and more realistic lighting, enhancing the game's open-world concept.

Other popular titles will also be optimized

Nintendo has announced that other games in its catalog will also receive optimized versions. These include titles such as Echoes of Wisdom and Link's Awakening, which will have automatic updates for the Nintendo Switch 2.The goal is to extend the lifespan of the console's library by offering improvements at no additional cost to users.

However, not all updates will follow this model. Games like Metroid Prime 4 and Breath of the Wild will have exclusive versions for the new hardware, with enhanced content and performance. These editions will require additional payment, which may divide the gaming community.

The strategy reveals a gradual transition between generations. While some titles will be available for free, others will be tied to the purchase of new versions or specific packages.
