Following a positive reception on PlayStation 5, the South Korean studio Shift Up managed to replicate—and even expand—the game's impact on PC, reaching an even larger audience with the new version. The PC version arrived with good technical performance, engaging combat, and refined graphics, which helped attract an even bigger player base.

New top spot among PlayStation solo games on Steam
Stellar Blade debuted on Steam on June 11th with a peak exceeding 117,000 simultaneous players, a number that secured Shift Up the title of the biggest single-player PlayStation PC launch.
The performance surpassed other major adaptations. In comparison with other PlayStation titles adapted for PC, Stellar Blade outperformed games like Ghost of Tsushima, which registered around 77,000 simultaneous players, as well as God of War and Spider-Man Remastered, both with lower peaks.
Helldivers 2 remains the most played PlayStation title on Steam, with over 450,000 simultaneous players. However, being a multiplayer game with a simultaneous release on both platforms, a direct comparison with Stellar Blade loses relevance. Among the single-player campaigns, none had such a strong debut as this one.
Community feedback helps drive Stellar Blade forward
Players who tested the PC port were full of praise. The version was quickly rated "Extremely Positive" on Steam, with 95% of reviews highlighting aspects such as smooth performance, polished graphics, and a responsive combat system.
The demo released days earlier had already left a favorable impression. This reception was solidified at the official launch. Many users stated that the game runs well even on mid-range setups, which contributed to further expanding its active user base in the first few hours.

Critical analyses reinforce the positive momentum
In the specialized press, Stellar Blade also received a solid reception. The Metacritic score for the PC version reached an average of 85 points, even surpassing the score it received when it was released on PlayStation 5.
Outlets like Noisy Pixel praised the title, giving it a score of 95 and highlighting the quality of the combat and collaborations with other franchises, such as NieR Automata and Goddess of Victory: Nikkei. In contrast, sites like PCGamesN were more critical, pointing out flaws in the narrative and a lack of depth in the characters. Still, most reviews point to more merits than problems.
The future of the franchise is already under development
The positive response to the launch encouraged Shift Up to accelerate its plans for the franchise. The company confirmed that a sequel to Stellar Blade is already in development, although there is no set date for its release.
The developer is also working on other initiatives, such as the new project temporarily called Project Witches, in addition to keeping the community of the mobile game Goddess of Victory: Nikke active, which continues to receive constant updates.
