saga Naruto last year, the life of mangaka Masashi Kishimoto hasn't stopped for a minute. After books, one-shots, and the new Boruto, he said he's going to take some time off, but revealed in a recent interview in Japan that his next project will be science fiction.
Let's learn a little about this ambitious new project:
In the interview, he reveals that the manga will not be weekly like Naruto was, saying: "That's definitely not going to happen, but I enjoy drawing manga." He comments that he is more interested inShonen Jump Plus, the digital comic service of Shonen Jump magazine (where Naruto was published), because the online format allows more freedom with the number of pages and publication deadlines of a comic than the print version.
Regarding his next project, he comments: “I’ve already decided what I’m going to do. While I was working on Naruto, I thought about various things for inspiration, and for my next manga I’m thinking of doing something science fiction. It’s not all set yet, I haven’t shown it to my editor yet, but I’ve already sketched the characters.”
He also promises an ambitious project: “Since Naruto was a bigger success than I expected, I would like to aim for the next success. I don't know when I will announce this next manga, but since I plan to challenge myself to surpass Naruto, I ask everyone to wait a little longer.”
