The official website for author Nagomu Torii's light novel adaptation (Kyōkai no Kanata) has released a short video of the first TV commercial for the anime Kyōkai no Kanata . In the 16-second video, the heroine Mirai Kuriyama asks the viewer, "Do I look like a normal human being?"

Taichi Ishidate (responsible for Clannad After Story, Hyoka, K-ON) is directing the anime at Kyoto Animation, and Jukki Hanada (Gakuen Alice, Chūnibyō demo Koi ga Shitai!, Steins;! Gate) is writing the series. The anime is scheduled to premiere on Japanese television in mid-October.
