The announcement of Dragon Ball Super: Beerus during the Genkidamatsuri event goes beyond a simple retelling. In practice, the news signals the beginning of a possible complete remake of Dragon Ball Super , starting with the Battle of Gods arc . In this way, the franchise can correct old flaws and reposition the series for a new generation.

When Super premiered, its weak animation immediately drew criticism. Akira Toriyama even publicly acknowledged the problems. Now, Beerus emerges as a direct response to that past. The show features refined visuals, a more streamlined pace, and greater fidelity to the manga, so it's not just about "polishing" old episodes.

Furthermore, the project resembles the strategy of Dragon Ball Kai, but on a more ambitious scale. While Kai cut filler and sped up battles, Beerus could reimagine entire arcs. The Tournament of Power, Goku Black, and Resurrection 'F' would gain a new narrative structure.

On the other hand, the remake also opens up space to resolve continuity issues. After Dragon Ball DAIMA, Super Saiyan 4 officially became canon. Thus, a new version of Super could explain its absence and integrate this form into the modern canon.
