The official website for the anime The Fire Hunter (Hikari no Ō) released the first promotional video for its second season. The video revealed the premiere of the second season for January 14, 2024.
The new season premieres on January 14th on the premium pay television channel WOWOW. The new cast for season two includes Manaka Iwami as Yururuho/Sennen Suisei and MAO as Ruri Matsuri. The rest of the 16 main cast members are reprising their roles.

Synopsis
The story begins with Touko, a young girl from a paper-making town who finds herself in the forbidden forest, attacked by flamelings, when a flamecatcher rushes to protect her. But elsewhere, a young man born in the capital named Kōshi shelters his younger sister after losing his mother to the factory's poison.
Junji Nishimura ( VladLove ) is directing the anime at studio Signal.MD ( Platinum End ) and Mamoru Oshii ( Ghost in the Shell ) is supervising and writing the script. However, Takuya Saito ( Macross Zero ) is the character designer and also chief animation director alongside Kazuchika Kise and Toshihisa Kaiya.
Finally, author Rieko Hinata released the light novel Hikari no Ou in December 2018, with illustrations by Akihiro Yamada.
