Synopsis by Netflix:
“In the immediate future, a giant meteor has collided with the earth. All living organisms, including humanity, have been erased from the planet. The government, which had predicted this event, took measures to prevent the worst-case scenario. In particular was the “7SEEDS” project, where 5 groups of 7 young men and women were carefully selected and placed into teams (Spring, Summer A, Summer B, Autumn and Winter). Each participant was placed into cryosleep in hopes of preserving humanity's existence.
When these men and women wake up, they find themselves suddenly thrust into a cruel world. Although deprived and grief-stricken at having lost their loved ones forever, they seek ways to survive.”
Tamura Yumi 's manga was published by Flowers Monthly magazine between 2003 and 2017, with a total of 35 volumes. anime adaptation is in the hands of studio GONZO , with Yukio Takahashi as director, Touko Machida as responsible for the story and Youko Satou as character designer. The opening theme song, “Ark” is performed by Amatsuki , while the ending theme song, “WISH”, is sung by majiko .
