Koei Tecmo has officially announced a new game inspired by the anime Fairy Tail . The title will be a JRPG and is being developed by GUST Studios , a studio known for franchises such as Atelier and Nights of Azure .
The announcement came with a reveal trailer , which showed the first glimpses of the adaptation, promising to take fans on a new adventure in the universe of Natsu, Lucy, and the entire Fairy Tail guild.
Launch and platforms
There aren't many details yet about the gameplay or plot, but the developer has confirmed that the game will be released in 2020 and will be available for PC (Steam) , PlayStation 4 , and Nintendo Switch . This will be the first major adaptation of the series for current-generation consoles at the time, which raises expectations within the community.
Meanwhile, fans of the anime and manga await more information about playable characters, combat mechanics, and possible adapted arcs. GUST promises to maintain the essence of the original work, but adding characteristic elements from their JRPGs, such as alchemy systems and strategic battles.
