The classic anime Onegai☆Teacher has just received a new animated project, rekindling the nostalgia of fans who followed the anime in the 2000s. The initiative arose through a Japanese crowdfunding campaign, which has already surpassed ¥1.87 million in support. Furthermore, the campaign will remain open for another 120 days, and the studio has confirmed that production will continue even if it doesn't reach the final goal of ¥25 million .
The project will offer the new animated material on exclusive Blu-ray for backers . Additionally, in-person screenings are planned in Japan , further appealing to collectors and fans of the series. Production begins in December , with completion expected between April and May 2026 .
The original cast returns, so fans will be able to rediscover iconic voices such as Kikuko Inoue, Soichiro Hoshi, Yukari Tamura , and Ayako Kawasumi . On the other hand, the technical team also features familiar names:
