Written by Yashichiro Takahashi, Shakugan no Shana will soon have a new story arc. This is confirmed by information that appeared in the Japanese edition of the magazine "Dengeki Bunko".
Shakugan no Shana follows a supernatural setting centered on Sakai Yuji, an ordinary boy who finds himself embroiled in an ancient conflict between forces. In the process, he befriends a female fighter from the Shakugan forces and names her "Shana.".
Shakugan no Shana incorporates elements of fantasy and "slice of life" into its plot.
The manga adaptation spawned 3 anime with 24 episodes each, a 4-episode OVA series, an animated film, and a single-episode OVA series. A video game for Playstation 2 was released in March 2006, and adapted for Nintendo DS in March 2007.
