It was announced through the official website that the anime “ Akagami no Shirayuki-hime ” (Snow White with the Red Hair) will get a second season, arriving on Japanese TVs in January 2016.
The team had already stated that the main idea was to divide the series into two seasons, with the first part premiering in July of this year. Masahiro Ando (Hanasaku Iroha) directed the series at the animation studio BONES.
The story, similar to "Snow White," revolves around Shirayuki, a girl born with unique apple-red hair. She meets Prince Raji, who falls in love with her at first sight and orders her to become his mistress. With nowhere else to go, Shirayuki cuts her hair and flees to a neighboring country. While traveling through the forest, she meets Zen, a young man who helps her after she heals his wounds, only to be poisoned by an apple.
