The February issue of Square Enix's Gangan Joker magazine announced that an anime adaptation of Takahiro and Tetsuya Tashiro , Akame ga KILL!, will be released. TOHO Ad Co. registered the domain name "akame.tv" on January 8.

The dark fantasy action manga follows the main character, Akame , a girl who was bought, brainwashed, and raised by the Empire as an assassin. After meeting Akame, a boy named Tatsumi vows to confront the Empire's evil.

Japanese game developer MinatoSoft has been teasing four projects tied to Takahiro, including the Shoujo-tachi wa Arano o Mezasu game and an Akame ga KILL! project that will be announced on Wednesday. The ninth compiled volume of the manga will also be released on January 22. Takahiro launched Akame ga KILL! Zero (which depicts events occurring before the first episode) with artist Kei Toru in the October issue of Square Enix's Big Gangnam magazine.
