While Hollywood hasn't decided whether or not to make a live-action version of the anime/manga, a group has decided to get together and produce at least the trailer for such a film, titled Akira Project .
The project took almost three years to complete and resulted in a trailer that only leaves fans wanting more.
Filming for the Akira Project only took a few days, but the pre- and post-production periods are what made the trailer take so long to come out.
