At the end of the last episode of Aldnoah.Zero it was revealed that the second season will be shown from January 2015. This is one of the cases in which the two seasons of the anime are produced together, so it was already confirmed since its release, but now we have a scheduled airing date.
In 1972, remains of a Martian civilization and an unknown technology were found on the lunar surface, a teleportation device that allows humanity to migrate to Mars: the Hyper Gate. This drives the colonization of Mars and political friction, but it is in a post-war world, years later, that this story begins, at the height of all the consequences of human stupidity.
The anime is an original production by studio A1-Pictures, written by Katsuhiko Takayama and with the collaboration of Gen Urobushi (Fate/Zero, Suisei no Gargantia) in creating the project and scripts for the first three episodes (the rest were written by himself Takayama).
