Shogakukan has released a quick promotional video for the OVA Alice in Borderland (Imawa no Kuni no Arisu) that comes along with copies of the limited edition of the 12th compiled volume of the survival thriller based on the manga by Haro Aso.
Three episodes of the original video anime are scheduled to be produced, and the anime will be integrated with limited edition packs of 12, 13, and 14 compiled volumes of the manga. Volume 12 of the manga along with the first episode of the video anime will be released in Japan on October 17. The cast includes Yoshimasa Hosoya as Ryohei Arisu, Tatsuhisa Suzuki as Daikichi Karube, Tsubasa Yonaga as Chota Segawa, and Maaya Sakamoto as Saori Shibuki. Hideki Tachibana (Dragon Crisis!, H2O ~Footprints in the Sand~) will direct the anime on SILVER Link and connect from scripts by Ryosuke Nakamura (Aiura, Flame Mirage).
Aso began serializing the manga in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday S (formerly Shonen Sunday CHO) in 2010, and he is also writing a series of special reports that are being published in the Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine once a month.
