Nintendo revealed a new batch of indie titles this Thursday, August 7, 2025, during its Indie World Showcase. The broadcast showcased more than 20 new games and anticipated updates, with releases scheduled for the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.

Among the most anticipated announcements is BALL x PIT, a fast-paced roguelite arriving on October 15th with versions for all platforms, including the new Switch 2. Another highlight is Okomotive's Herdling, launching on August 21st and featuring an emotional journey through the mountains. For fans of introspective narratives, Undusted: Letters from the Past debuts in October, promising a sensitive experience about memories and reconnection.

Some games were released on the same day as the presentation. Examples include Is This Seat Taken?, a cozy puzzle game about reading environments and seating arrangements, and Tiny Bookshop, a cozy seaside bookstore simulator. UFO 50 arrived with a retro collection of 50 titles connected by a shared universe.
Games scheduled for 2025
Most of the releases are scheduled for late 2025. Mina the Hollower, with its retro look and intense combat, debuts on October 31st. Winter Burrow, about a mouse surviving the winter, also arrives by the end of the year. The underwater action game Glaciered will be a timed exclusive on Switch 2, while Caves of Qud, an award-winning sci-fi roguelike, arrives on the console by December.

Next year also has some interesting releases in store. WELL DWELLER blends metroidvania with a dark fairy tale aesthetic and is expected to arrive sometime in 2026. Neverway, meanwhile, is merging RPGs, life simulations, and surreal horror. Finally, Go-Go Town! stands out with its chaotic city-building, full of unexpected surprises, and a cooperative mode.

Ultimate Sheep Raccoon garnered attention with its chaotic multiplayer style, in which players build tracks and sabotage each other in bike races. Strange Antiquities blends shop management with mystery, and OPUS: Prism Peak proposes a contemplative journey with an analog camera and spiritual encounters. All reinforce the indie trend of delivering unique, visually distinct experiences.
