The official website for the anime Ame to Kimi to released several details about the anime on Wednesday, the 11th. This included a new visual , information about a new character, and the premiere date .

The anime premieres on July 5 , 2025, and is being produced by studio Lesprit (Cinderella Girls Gekijou). Tomohiro Tsukimi (Kapibara-san) is the director, Touko Machida (7 Seeds) is the series composer, Ayano Owada is responsible for character design, and Rei Ishizuka is responsible for the soundtrack.

New character and voice cast
Hiura , a new character, has received a visual and a description:
Hiura is Fuji's classmate from elementary school and an anime director. While stuck at work and taking a walk in the park, he discovers "you." He thinks it's a stray dog and tries to catch it, but unexpectedly reunites with Fuji, "you's" owner.
Hiura's voice actor will be Shuhei Sakaguchi , who left a comment about his new role:
Mr. Hiura, it was quite an eccentric role, and I enjoyed it very much. However, playing a role with the title of "anime director" was a unique tension (laughs). Personally, the scene where he meets "you" when he first appears is impressive, and Hiura's originality is well demonstrated. At the same time, "you's" behavior at that moment is our tanu… He looked exactly like a dog, and I couldn't help but laugh.
The production team previously released the list of voice actors who will be in the anime . Check it out below:

Synopsis of Ame to Kimi to
Ko Nikaido wrote the manga of the same name that inspired the work. The series has been serialized by Kodansha in the seinen magazine Weekly Young Magazine since August 2020.
On a rainy day, a woman encounters a strange animal waiting by the roadside. The little creature, hoping to be taken in, offers her an umbrella, trying to show off its charm. Curious about the creature's intelligence, the woman decides to take it home, and so begins their new life together.
