The official website for the anime Ame to Kimi to released a variety of information about the anime on Wednesday, the 11th, including a new visual , information about a new character, and the premiere date .

The anime premieres on July 5 , 2025, and is being produced by Lesprit (Cinderella Girls Gekijou). Tomohiro Tsukimi (Kapibara-san) is the director, Touko Machida (7 Seeds) is the series composer, Ayano Owada is responsible for character design, and Rei Ishizuka is responsible for the soundtrack.

New character and voice cast
Hiura , a new character, has gained a look and a description:
Hiura is Fuji's elementary school classmate and an anime director. While stuck at work and taking a walk in the park, he discovers "you." He thinks it's a stray dog and tries to catch it, but unexpectedly reunites with Fuji, "you's" owner.
Hiura's voice actor will be Shuhei Sakaguchi , who left a comment about his new work:
Mr. Hiura, it was a rather eccentric role, and I really enjoyed it. However, playing a role with the title of "anime director" was a unique tension (laughs). Personally, the scene where he meets "you" when he first appears is impressive, and Hiura's originality is well demonstrated. At the same time, "you"'s behavior in that moment is our tanu... He looked exactly like a dog, and I couldn't help but laugh.

Synopsis of Ame to Kimi to
Ko Nikaido wrote the manga of the same name that inspired the work. The series has been serialized by Kodansha in the seinen magazine Weekly Young Magazine since August 2020.
One rainy day, a woman comes across a strange animal waiting by the side of the road. Hoping for shelter, the little creature offers her an umbrella, trying to show off its charm. Curious about the creature's intelligence, the woman decides to take it home, and thus begins their new life together.
