The official website for the 'Oi! Tonbo' manga anime revealed a new teaser and visual for the anime on Tuesday (3). The teaser reveals the anime's premiere for spring 2024 (autumn in Brazil), as well as the OLM producing the animation, with SMDE collaborating on the CGI animation.

Synopsis:
The manga's story begins with Igarashi, who was disqualified as a professional golfer after a certain "incident" and therefore moves to the Tokara Islands in Kagoshima Prefecture in order to escape the spotlight. On these islands, known as "Japan's last unexplored frontier," he meets a naive girl named Tonbo.
It turns out that these supposedly unexplored islands have a homemade golf course, where Tonbo plays every day. She demonstrates genius-level talent, hitting all kinds of shots with just one golf club, a 3-iron. Igarashi is impressed by Tonbo's talent, even while harboring doubts about her using only a 3-iron. However, hidden in Tonbo's heart is a painful and sad past.
Finally, the author Kawasaki and the artist Furusawa launched the manga in Weekly Golf Digest, a golf magazine published by Golf Digest Sha Co., Ltd., in August 2014. The 46th volume of the manga was released on September 1, 2023.
