How about we take a look at some anime films that could be nominated for the 2021 Oscars! The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) recently announced six Japanese animated films that are eligible for the 94th Academy Awards! So, let's take a look at the works that could compete for the biggest prize of all. By the way, consider donating to our website, so we can keep our work going. Now, without further ado, here's the list:
Anime Films That Could Be Nominated for the 2021 Oscars
Ryuu to Sobakasu no Hime: Also known as Belle, the plot revolves around Suzu, a 17-year-old high school student who lives in the countryside of Kochi Prefecture with her father after losing her mother at a young age. … As a result, she and her father grew increasingly distant, and Suzu closed her heart to the world…
None Nikuko-Gyokou Chan: Here we follow the story that revolves around a mother and daughter who live on a boat and they follow as they grow up and begin their paths in life.
Uchuu no Hou: Erohim-hen: Or also known as The Laws of the Universe: Part 2. It's also important to note that the franchise consists of four films. The plot revolves around five young people who are involved in a strange incident and end up meeting an alien!
Machi Nenhum Poupelle Entotsu: This time we see the story of a young man named Lubicchi and Poubelle who meet on Halloween night in a town full of tall chimneys. As a result, the chimneys pour out black smoke, and the true sky is invisible.
Eiga Daisuki Pompo-san
The plot of this one is quite interesting, as it explores the world of filmmaking and follows Joelle Davidovich "Pompo" Pomponette. Despite her ability to see the team's potential, she's only made B-movies or erotic films.
Josee, the Tiger and the Fish
And finally, let's talk about my favorite. And with that, the plot is definitely one of the most unexpected romances you've ever seen in an anime. It's about a young college student who ends up meeting a wheelchair-bound girl! It's simply beautiful, and this work is definitely worth watching. In fact, not just this one, but all the ones listed here.
So, how many of these movies have you seen? I honestly haven't seen even half of them. However, a few of them caught my attention, and I'll probably add them to my list. Leave a comment, and see you next time!
