Last weekend, the Anhembi Pavilion, in the city of São Paulo, hosted another edition of Anime Friends . Between Friday the 8th and Sunday the 10th, visitors were able to check out a program full of attractions and activities. Due to the pandemic, no edition of Anime Friends took place two years ago, but the event is one of the main meeting points for anime and manga in Brazil. Therefore, the AnimeNew was not left out and closely followed the schedule.
The event featured shows, panels, stands, a cosplay contest, anime screenings and the presence of several guests . Many voice actors participated in this year's edition, including Guilherme Briggs , Wendel Bezerra and Miriam Ficher . Japanese actors Takumi Tsutsui and Hiroshi Watari , famous for tokusatsu series, as well as illustrator Kaida Yuji and singer Matsuko Mawatari , were some of the international attractions.
Anime Friends São Paulo also brought several manga publishers to the program, such as NewPOP, JBC and Pipoca & Nanquim . Crunchyroll , in turn, represented streaming services , showing anime in the ultra auditorium. Meanwhile, the main stage entertained the public with numerous shows, and the K-pop arena featured a lot of dancing, including challenges and workshops.
Finally, the traditional cosplay contest could not be missed, whose categories were divided into traditional, free, parade and Star Guardians . This new category followed the same rules as the individual parade, but only included cosplays that fit the theme of Riot Games' new event, Star Guardian .
Star Guardians
Star Guardians, or Star Guardian, is the new event from Riot Games, available starting this Thursday, 14th, in League of Legends . On July 15th and 20th, respectively, the event will also begin in the games Wild Rift and Legends of Runeterra. In addition to new skins, players will be able to unlock exclusive themed missions and rewards.
Riot Games has already published some videos with the story of the Star Guardians, but new content is yet to be released, including a music video. According to the company, the event is a tribute to the mahō shōjo genre , with heroines who deal, at the same time, with heroic and routine duties.
In the São Paulo edition of Anime Friends 2022, the cosplayers perfected their characterization with the Star Guardians theme . Several skins from the event were transformed into beautiful cosplays , and those who passed by Riot's booth could also take advantage of a 360º photo booth to record fun moments with friends.
