Kadokawa confirmed during the MF Bunko J Fall School Festival 2025 that the light novel Killed Again, Mr. Detective? ( Mata Korosarete Shimatta no desu ne, Tantei-sama anime adaptation . The series will air on TBS starting in April 2026 and promises to thrill fans of mystery, light novels, and investigation in the anime style.
In the story, we follow Sakuya Otsuki , the son of a legendary detective, who tries to follow in his father's footsteps alongside his partner Lilithea . However, something is completely out of the ordinary. Sakuya always ends up dead in his own cases. Furthermore, he revives each time he opens his eyes, finding Lilithea ready to reconstruct the enigma by his side. In this way, the plot transforms the classic investigative genre into something more eccentric and fun.
Meanwhile, Sakuya is tasked with infiltrating a luxurious cruise ship. However, the investigation quickly spirals out of control, and the young detective is murdered once again. Thus begins another race against time to uncover the culprit and prevent further tragic fates.
The light novel was launched in 2021 and will reach its sixth volume in November. The manga , published on the Dra Dra Flat , ended in two volumes. Finally, the anime adaptation should further expand the reach of the work, which already has a good reception among mystery and fantasy readers.
