We've reached September and more than half of the summer anime episodes have already been released. The renowned Japanese portal Livedoor News has published an interesting study on the anime of the season with the highest audience concentration. It's worth noting that they used Niconico , one of the largest Japanese streaming services, as their data source.
Furthermore, it's worth noting that the research was based on viewer retention for the first 6 episodes, not the most-watched episodes. Now, without further ado, let's get to the list:

Anime of the Season with the Highest Audience Concentration – Top 5
5. Kageki Shoujo!!: First, I honestly haven't been following this series and I don't see much buzz about it on social media. But, we all know that the tastes of Easterners differ greatly from those of Westerners, and therefore, it appeared on the list even though it's not very popular here. Anyway, I think we can give this series a chance, and its redemption rate is as follows:
- Episode 2 (51%)
- Episode 3 (41%)
- In Episode 4 (37%)
- Episode 5 (34%)
- Finally, Episode 6 (27%)
04. Meikyuu Black Company: On the other hand, this one is a total success here. It's worth remembering that it's a classic Isekai and brings us a very different and lively story. Furthermore, it's worth highlighting all the comedic scenes the work provides, and the way it unfolds is also sensational.
- Episode 2 (56%)
- In Episode 3 (45%)
- Episode 4 (39%)
- And Episode 5 (35%)
- Finally, Episode 6 (29%)

Now, opening our top 3, we have this, the second season of a very interesting work. Incidentally, it's also an Isekai and features our protagonist as a villain in a game. - In Episode 3 (48%)
- Episode 4 (42%)
- Episode 5 (37%)
- Finally, Episode 6 (30%)
02. Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon S

Here we have one of the best-animated works of the summer 2021 season. It's worth highlighting that we were all eagerly awaiting the return of this anime, and it's simply fantastic. Moreover, with a simple plot focused on the anything-but-normal daily lives of dragons on Earth, the work achieved the following retention rate:
- Episode 2 (64%)
- In Episode 3 (53%)
- Episode 4 (47%)
- Episode 5 (42%)
- Finally, Episode 6 (34%)
01. Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Sotsu

Finally, we have this work, which is also a sequel and promises to be full of mysteries and suspense. In any case, it had the highest retention rate of all and certainly has a very engaging plot. Well, see for yourselves the incredible retention rate the work achieved:
- Episode 2 (75%)
- Episode 3 (58%)
- In Episode 4 (50%)
