Animes with small chances of a new season
Anime: Maoyuu Maou Yuusha

anime fans in Japan have shared their opinions about which animes they believe have little chance of receiving a sequel in the form of a new season.

  • Demon Slayer character Mitsuri Kanroji brought to life with AI
  • Mushoku Tensei will have no season 2 episode next week

Some have argued that the lack of expectations is due to several factors. Among them, they mentioned the poor performance in sales of merchandising and related products, as well as the decline in the series' popularity compared to its initial peak. Some noted that the scripts satisfactorily concluded certain plots, leaving little room for a coherent continuation.

However, other internet users defended the hope for the continuation of some series, arguing that there are still plots to be explored. Some also highlighted persistent fan demand as an important factor that could influence animation studios' decision.

In short, the debate over series with low expectations for a new season reflects the diversity of opinions among anime fans in Japan.

Check out the animes with little chance of a new season:

  • “I would mention My Mental Choices Are Completely Interfering With My School Romantic Comedy, I fell in love with that series.”
  • “Oda Nobuna no Yabou (The Ambition of Oda Nobuna), is certainly an excellent choice.”
  • “Battle Programmer Shirase, a surprise that many didn’t expect.”
  • “ Maoyuu Maou Yuusha , so many good memories from this series.”
  • “Kemono Friends, I still keep my hopes up, even though I’m one of the few.”
  • “At Game No Life, it seems like many have already given up, but I'm still cheering.”
  • “A-Channel, anyone else looking forward to this?”
  • “There’s Watashi ni Tenshi ga Maiorita!, Tonari no Kyuuketsuki-san, and Majo no Tabitabi – The Journey of Elaina. It’s heartbreaking to think that they might not come back.”
  • “ Hidan no Aria (Aria the Scarlet Ammo), without a doubt a remarkable series.”
  • “Rokka no Yuusha, even though the soap opera is on pause, I still hope for more.”
  • “Bocchi, the girl who needs to make friends in the whole class.”

More animes were mentioned by fans:

  • “Hikikomari Kyuuketsuki no Monmon, even though it's something more recent, I'm already looking forward to it.”
  • “Extreme Hearts definitely deserves a mention.”
  • “Darwin’s Game, I still keep hope alive.”
  • “Mayo Chiki!, a series that will be missed.”
  • “Sabage-bu! (Survival Game Club!), I’ve been waiting for a new season for years.”
  • “ Nagi no Asu kara (A Lull in the Sea).”
  • “Flying Witch, maybe one day.”
  • “Asobi Asobase, I hope you make a comeback.”
  • “Kemono Jihen.”
  • “Houseki no Kuni.”
  • “Sekai Seifuku: Bouryaku no Zvezda.”
  • “And of course, I can't help but mention WataMote: No Matter How I Look At It, It's You Guys' Fault I'm Not Popular!”
  • “Hinamatsuri, I’ve waited so long for this.”
  • “Imouto leaves Ireba Ii. (A Sister's All You Need), although it would be interesting after what was shown in the anime.”
  • “Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou (Girls' Last Tour).”
  • “Mikakunin of Shinkoukei (Engaged to the Unidentified).”
  • “Aku no Hana.”
  • “Yagate Kimi ni Naru (Bloom Into You).”

Finally, comment if you have animes on your list that you consider an impossible return.
