Anne of Green Gables (Anne Shirley), a 1908 novel, is getting a new anime series. However, the announcement already reveals the release date.

Therefore, the series “Anne Shirley” will be broadcast in April 2025 with animation by The Answer Studio (Tower of God 2).

Synopsis

Anne Shirley is a charming young woman who grew up in an orphanage. By mistake, she is sent to live with Miss Marilla Cuthbert and Mr. Matt Cuthbert, who had initially requested the adoption of a boy. Surprised by Anne's arrival, Marilla gradually discovers the girl's sad past. Over time, Anne earns her place and becomes an indispensable part of the Cuthbert family.

Anne of Green Gables is a Japanese animated series that ranks fifth in Nippon Animation's renowned World Masterpiece Theater , widely recognized by various titles over the years. The series is an adaptation of the classic novel Anne of Green Gables , written by Lucy Maud Montgomery in 1908. In 1979, Nippon Animation produced the series and originally broadcast it on Fuji TV from January 7 to December 30 of that year.

Ultimately, the creators released 50 episodes in total, consolidating the title as a landmark work from the studio.
