The protagonist discovers her purpose
Professor Stacy creates a study group to prepare students from the Avonlea School for the Queen Academy selection test and invites Anne to participate. The girl gets radiant. One of the strengths of the narrative, besides witnessing Anne's maturation, is to follow the relationship that she is gradually building with her family. At first, Matthew and Marilla wanted to adopt a boy to help them with the tasks, but with Anne, they discovered the true meaning of caring, loving and supporting someone else. The girl was like a light at the end of the tunnel for two adults who no longer seemed to see the sweet side of life.
In addition to adoptive parents, Anne has another reference in her life. The Miss. Stacy, who from the beginning won the girl, plays an important role in the protagonist's choices. In one of her classes, the teacher encourages students to find a purpose, but Anne can't think of anything great to call "purpose for life." However, after an exciting scene involving the teacher and the students, the girl decides that when she grows up, she wants to be a teacher.
