Furthermore, the episode features a moment of self-acceptance for Anne, in which she recognizes that her red hair is part of who she is and finally embraces it. However, for this to happen, she experiences a situation that leaves her deeply upset.
Anne Shirley demonstrates her storytelling skills
At the beginning of the episode, Anne faces a dilemma when trying to write a romantic story. She needs someone to share an engagement experience so she can incorporate it into her narrative. However, no answer seems satisfactory, so Anne decides to create the perfect proposal using her imagination.
Besides Anne's creativity, another point stands out. In episode 6, winter shows its beauty, and the trees, covered in a thick layer of snow, make the animation even more beautiful. The characters' winter outfits also feature an elegant and charming design, which, in my opinion, makes the episode one of the most visually appealing.
Upon finishing the story, the protagonist is praised by her classmates, as the narrative combines romance, rivalry, and, ultimately, tragedy. Anne's friends are impressed by her creativity and skill, and so they ask her to teach them how to write a good story.
Thus, the storytelling club is created. Anne, who helps her friends with their writing and creativity, soon reveals a knack for encouraging and uplifting others. Finally, the teacher shows pride in Anne for helping her classmates and praises her during class, an act that leaves the protagonist beaming.
Anne decides to embrace the red tone of her hair
From the very first episode, Anne claims to dislike her red hair. So, she decides to dye it brown. However, the dye doesn't work, and the protagonist's hair turns green. She becomes deeply upset and realizes that, after all, her red hair wasn't as bad as she thought. The elements of the scene reflect Anne's mood, as the thunder and somber atmosphere seem to mirror what the girl feels when she sees the dye's effect on her hair.
Unable to remove the green dye, Anne allows Marilla to cut her hair very short, leaving only the red visible. When Anne arrives at school, Josie, one of her classmates, teases her and tells her she looks like a scarecrow. Anne tries not to be upset by the comment and, resolutely, decides to accept her red hair as it is. This attitude makes her feel more confident about her appearance.
Anne is an admirable character. She always tries to maintain a good sense of humor and see the positive side of things. At first, she's very upset about her green hair and even more frustrated about having to cut it. However, she sees the situation as a learning experience and understands that there are worse things than her red hair. Thus, the protagonist, instead of being upset until her hair grows out, reflects on her actions and accepts what happened. After all, at the moment, there's nothing she can do to change the situation.
Anne Shirley's work is a constant learning experience.
With each episode, Anne seems to mature a little more, and we, the viewers, follow her journey and also learn important values and life lessons. Anne Shirley , an adaptation of Anne of Green Gables , follows the childhood, youth, and adulthood of Anne, a charismatic and creative girl who easily wins over those around her.
The fascinating thing about the series is that we gradually discover that we all have a little bit of Anne Shirley in us. We all have a curious, imaginative side, capable of seeing beauty in the little things in our daily lives; we just need to give it space. Furthermore, there's an interesting twist in the episode titles. They relate to Anne's thoughts, phrases she said, or lessons learned, such as episode 6, titled: " I Thought Nothing Could Be as Bad as Red Hair."
In the next episode, Anne suffers a boating accident while trying to play Lady Elaine. Gilbert, who is fishing nearby, manages to help her at the last minute. Also, there's a rumor about Professor Stacy moving to another school. Check out the preview for episode 7:
