A new original anime titled “ Goodbye, Lara ” was announced this weekend with production from studio Kinema Citrus . In addition to the announcement, the production cast, trailer and image were revealed.

The project is in celebration of the studio's 15th anniversary.

Goodbye Lara Synopsis:
The plot of Goodbye Lara follows a mermaid who makes a forbidden wish: to be loved by a human. After her death, she is reborn 200 years later in modern Japan, in the serene Lake Biwa. There, she learns to adapt to the human world, full of challenges and discoveries. Lake Biwa, situated in Shiga Prefecture, is not only a stunning setting, but also the homeland of director Takushi Koide, adding a personal and authentic layer to the narrative.
