The Pokémon: Journeys anime is scheduled to return with new episodes on June 7th . The information came via the franchise's official Twitter .
Previously, production of new episodes was halted due to the state of emergency declared in Japan thanks to the COVID-19 .
Synopsis: Pokémon trainer Ash Ketchum has a new plan: explore the world . But first, he and his partner Pikachu are heading to the opening of the Cerise Laboratory, a research center dedicated to uncovering the mysteries of Pokémon across all regions. Ash meets Goh, another boy with boundless curiosity, and they are both very happy when Professor Cerise asks them to become official research fellows. With Ash as determined as ever to become a Pokémon master, and Goh aiming to capture them all (including the Mythical Mew), our heroes set off on a journey of adventure and excitement exploring the entire world.
The new series features two protagonists, as in addition to the already known Ash, we have the new character Goh . Goh's Pokémon partner is the Pokémon Hibunny, the starter Pokémon from the Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield , and Daiki Yamashita voices the character Goh. Goh is 10 years old and his dream is to capture all the Pokémon. Tatsuhisa Suzuki voices Kibana , a gym leader specializing in dragon-type Pokémon in the Galar region.
Pokémon: Journeys premiered on TV Tokyo and its affiliates on November 17, shortly after the Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield games were released worldwide.
Additionally, the new series features every region covered by the franchise so far, from the Kanto region to the Galar region. Machito Gomi is drawing a manga adaptation of the new anime.
