The official website for the 10th anniversary of the anime Anohana announced that the event that will be held in honor of the 10th anniversary will feature an on-stage reading that reveals what happened to the main characters 10 years after the end of the anime.
The anime's original screenwriter Mari Okada is then writing the script for the stage reading. The event will take place on August 28th, in addition, the characters' voice actors will appear in person in the anime's real-life setting which is located in Chichibu in Saitama City.
The event is then titled “ ANOHANA 10 YEARS AFTER Fes. “, A deliberate return to “ ANOHANA Fes .” which was held in Chichibu in September 2011.
The 10th anniversary project was first announced in March. Character designer and chief animation director Masayoshi Tanaka drew an image (below) of the main characters 10 years later to celebrate the project.
The Anohana anime debuted in April 2011 and follows the lives of childhood friends who try to reconnect in high school, after being separated due to a tragedy five years ago. The series inspired a manga , a film sequel in 2013, and a live-action in 2015.
