The website IGN reported that Sony Pictures and Japanese studio Lucent Pictures Entertainment (Kill la Kill, Berserk: The Golden Age Arc) are working on Appleseed Alpha , a new CG-animated film from author Masamune Shirow, the same as “Ghost in the Shell.”
Shinji Aramaki is returning to direct this new project, he was responsible for major films such as: “Starship Troopers: Invasion”, “Captain Harlock”, “Appleseed” and “Appleseed: Ex Machina.
The film continues to have no set release date. Titled “Alpha”, the new film will be a reboot showing the two characters Deunan and Briareos in search of a legendary lost city of Olympus.
