After thousands of rumors about a film based on the almost cheesy comic book character Aquaman , the production of an animated film about him has finally been confirmed. A post-credits scene in the film Justice League: War hinted at the aquatic hero's appearance in the new animated universe being created for home video.

In the scene description by the Newsarama website, with spoilers, Orm Marius, the Ocean Master, appears carrying the body of the king of Atlantis and swearing revenge against the beings on the surface.

Plans for an Aquaman film explain his absence in Justice League: War. Shazam (formerly Captain Marvel) replaces the character in the story, which brings more dynamic action.

Warner Bros. Animation will also release two more animated features from DC Comics: Son of Batman and Assault on Arkham.
