Ascendance of a Bookworm will have a new season by WIT Studio

TO Books announced on Wednesday (6) that the light novel series Ascendance of a Bookworm ( Honzuki no Gekokujou – Shisho ni Naru Tame niwa Shudan o Erandeiramasen ) by Miya Kazuki , will have a new anime by Wit Studio .

The new anime will adapt Part 3: Adopted Daughter of an Archduke from the light novel series. (The previous three television anime seasons covered the first two parts of the light novel series.)

Synopsis

A college student, who has loved books since childhood, dies in an accident and is reborn in another world she doesn't recognize. Now, she's Myne, the sickly five-year-old daughter of a poor soldier. Furthermore, the world she's reborn into has a very low literacy rate, and books are practically nonexistent. Faced with this challenge, she realizes she would have to pay a huge sum of money to buy a book. Determined, Myne resolves: if there are no books, she'll have to make them! With this goal in mind, her goal is to become a librarian. Thus, the story begins with her quest to create books so she can live surrounded by them! So, dive into this bibliofantasy written especially for book lovers and story devourers!

Kazuki began the original novels on the website " Shosetsuka ni Naro " in 2013 and finished the web novel in 2017. You Shiina illustrates the print edition. The series is nearing its conclusion on December 9th with the release of volume 33. In 2017, Kazuki released the spin-off story titled "Hannelore no Kizokuin Gonensei," which is still ongoing.

Ultimately, the light novel inspired a three-season anime adaptation by Ajia-do . The first season premiered in October 2019 and concluded in December of the same year, with 14 episodes, divided into two parts. Crunchyroll streamed the anime simultaneously with its Japanese airing. The second part premiered in Japan in April 2020. The second season premiered in October 2020, and Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan. The third season of the anime premiered on April 11, 2022.
