Assassin's Creed Shadows will get a manga adaptation

Assassin's Creed X profile from Ubisoft announced this Thursday (07) that the game will receive a manga titled Assassin's Creed Shadows: Iga no Monogatari (Tale of Iga) the story will be a prequel.

The artist reguje , known for his work on UEN and the Change the World , will draw the artwork.

Kodansha will YanMaga website on March 20 , 2025, exclusively in Japanese. Ubisoft has stated that it will officially outside of Japan, but has not provided further details about the project.

The team responsible released the cover of the first chapter of the manga along with the story announcement. Check it out below:

In the game, you experience the intertwined stories of Naoe , a skilled Shinobi assassin from the Iga province, and Yasuke , the powerful African Samurai and historical legend. Set against the backdrop of the turbulent Sengoku , the pair will discover their shared destiny as they usher in a new era for Japan.

The news site Variety revealed another piece of news about the game: actor Mackenyu Arata will voice Gennojo , described as "a key character who helps the protagonist track down and eliminate a crucial target."

Mackenyu is known for playing Roronoa Zoro and Pegasus Seiya live-action adaptations of One Piece and Saint Seiya, respectively.

The production team released a behind -the-scenes video of the game and the voice acting recordings. The video shows an interview with Mackenyu talking about his experience participating in the franchise, watch it here:

Ubisoft will release the Assassin's Creed Shadows on March 20 , 2025, the same day as the manga's release. It is confirmed for the following platforms: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Windows, macOS, and iPadOS.
