A pamphlet and some information related to the live-action Assassination Classroom by Yusei Matsui have been released. Cinemas across Japan will begin distributing the pamphlet in November, but the premiere will not take place until March 21, 2015.
Eiichirō Hasumi (Umizaru films, Wild 7) is directing the film, and Tatsuya Kanazawa (Lucky Seven) is writing the script. Filming began at an abandoned elementary school in the suburbs of Japan's Kanto district on August 31, and is scheduled to wrap in mid-October.
The story is about Kunugigaoka Middle School's Class 3-E, where every morning they greet their sensei with a mass firing squad. The sensei is a strange combination of an alien and an octopus that moves at speeds of Mach 20. It turns out this creature was responsible for the destruction of the moon, making it permanently crescent-shaped. He has announced that he will destroy the world in one year. The creature will teach Class 3-E how to assassinate him before the year is out.
