The next generation of Nintendo's hybrid console can receive one of the most anticipated games of the year. According to information released by Pegi, a European body responsible for classifying video games, Assassin's Creed Shadows is under development for Switch 2. The information was quickly taken down, but left solid clues about Ubisoft's plans.

If confirmed, the adaptation marks the second major title of the French developer in the successor of Nintendo Switch. Prior to that, Star Wars Outlaws had already been officially listed as part of the new console catalog, scheduled for launch on September 4.

Ubisoft reinforces support for Nintendo's new console
Ubisoft has always shown willingness to support the Nintendo platform. In the original switch, the Assassin's Creed franchise titles arrived through collections and remastered. Now, with the technical advance promised by Switch 2, the developer can expand this partnership.
Assassin's Creed Shadows, originally released in March for other platforms, is an open world title that requires high graphic performance. In the new console, the game is expected to explore advanced features such as Ray Tracing and upscale techniques offered by Nvidia. These tools would be key to maintaining a good frame rate without compromising visual quality.
The franchise history with portable devices also favors adaptation. The game is already running on Steam Deck, which demonstrates its viability in mobile systems with similar hardware.
Removed clue increases expectation
Despite having taken the mention of Switch 2 from its site, Pegi did not officially denied the existence of the version. Sudden exclusion from the platform may indicate a premature leakage, which usually occurs in public records before official announcements.
Ubisoft's silence on the subject raises even more speculation. With the debut of Star Wars Outlaws on the same system, it is unlikely that Assassin's Creed Shadows is left out, especially because it is one of the company's most recognized brands.
The decision would also be strategic. Thus, with the sales potential of the new console, the presence of a strong title like Assassin's Creed would help boost sales at launch. The French company has already adopted this movement previously by providing saga remakes and collections to the original switch.
