The world's most famous Gauls are getting a 3D version in theaters. Asterix and the Realm of the Gods is the new animated film based on the Gauls' comics created by René Goscinny (scripts) and Albert Uderzo (artists).

The film will be an adaptation of an album published in 1971. In it, the Roman Emperor Caesar attempts to conquer Asterix's village by building a city around it. Asterix and his discreet friend Obelix fight with the help of their elixir to protect their village in Gaul.
3D animation hits French cinemas in 2014, with no release date here in Brazil.
