During the re-screening event for Attack on Titan: The Last Attack ( Shingeki no Kyojin: The Final Season ) held in Tokyo, author Hajime Isayama surprised fans by revealing candid details about his current routine. In a special message read on stage, the creator stated that he is not actively working at the moment .

According to Isayama, after the manga and anime ended, he stopped drawing daily. Even so, he participates in occasional projects, such as on-demand illustrations and collaborations with friends. Therefore, despite the statement sounding strong, the author assured that he is not living an idle life .
