Volume 11 of Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin) is the first in the series to rank #1 in manga sales for two consecutive weeks. Furthermore, the limited edition of the same volume ranked in the top 10 for two consecutive weeks. The series as a whole has over 20 million copies in print.
Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan ) spinoff manga has just gained a new author. The story will be handled by Satoshi Shiki (Kamikaze, Riot) and artist Thores Shibamoto (Trinity Blood). Shiki, who had already stated earlier this month that he wouldn't be taking a break, will finish his XBlade manga to begin a new series soon. Shingeki no Kyojin: Before the Fall will launch in the October issue of Monthly Shonen Sirius , which hits newsstands on October 26th. The plot will be a parallel storyline set within the world of Shingeki no Kyojin.
The plot suggests a new manga where we will learn about the history of humanity before its near-total decline. We may see the beginning of the Titans' arrival, the creation of the weapons used by them (humans) today, and the formation of the walls. Perhaps we will even learn about the "secret" of Eren Jaeger's father.
