Shinji Higuchi announced that the highly anticipated live-action adaptation of Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin) will have exactly two films, scheduled to premiere next summer in Japan. The films are being filmed in Nagasaki Prefecture and on Hashima Island.

Higuchi stated that the films are being closely monitored by manga creator Hajime Isayama , and the story will be based on the world he created. Yusuke Watanabe ( Dragon Ball Z : Battle of Gods , live-action Gantz , Gatchaman) is writing the entire script for the film. Film critic Tomohiro Machiyama , who is also a friend of Isayama , is working on the scripts .

Shingeki no Kyojin manga depicts the battles between humans and the giants who now rule the outside world beyond the walls.
