The author of the Kanojo Okarishimasu ( Rent-a-Girlfriend ) manga, Reiji Miyajima , shared one of his first drawings on his official Twitter account.
In the post, Miyajima compares the old drawing with one of his more recent ones of the character Chizuru Mizuhara and adds the hashtag #独学でここまで成長したからお前も頑張れ (I grew up a lot alone, so you can too). Artists use this hashtag as a way of supporting aspiring people, showing “how bad they used to be too”.
In the post he wrote “ Not exactly self-taught! Thanks to the teachings of many teachers who took care of me and the influence of many works, I can draw! “.
Reiji Miyajima's Kanojo Okarishimasu manga has been published by Kodansha in Weekly Shonen Magazine since July 2017, with 27 volumes to date. Furthermore, the manga received a spinoff last year, titled Kanojo Hitoshirimasu , focusing on the character Sumi Sakurasawa.
