The new Man of Steel has been delayed by Warner Bros. Pictures Batman vs. Superman , would premiere on July 17, 2015, will now be released on May 6, 2016, 10 months later.
Marvel planned to release one of its features, not yet specified, on that date. In its place, on 7/17, WB aired the film Pan , about the origin of Peter Pan , with Hugh Jackman as Blackbeard .
The strategy gives strength to rumors that the studio would be willing to shoot the Justice League at the same time as it produces the sequel to Man of Steel that will feature Batman and Superman as protagonists.
