Recently released, the new Berserk gained its first promotional image. The photos were published in the monthly edition of “Young Animal” magazine.
NBC Universal will release the anime's first promotional video at its booth at the Comiket event in the winter. The announcement does not reveal whether we will have a new TV series, film or OVA.
Author Kentarou Miura comments that the project will focus on “Guts” in his appearance as “Black Swordsman”, which is only revealed in parts of the manga, going beyond any story previously told in an animated series. The magazine also highlights that the old Berserk series will have a Blu-ray version with the 2012 HD remaster. The new box set is scheduled for a release on April 20th, and will cost ¥18,000 (about US$148).
Additionally, Miura will put the Berserk manga on hiatus in the summer of next year.
