Masanori Morita will launch a mini-series sequel to the Beshari Gurashi manga in the July 31st issue. This information was revealed in the 23rd issue of this year's Weekly Young Jump, published by Shueisha on May 9th. This new manga story will take place after the final chapter of the original manga.

The manga's story revolves around Keisuke Agatsuma, a high school student who may not be very bright, but has an incredible sense of comedy. He's self-proclaimed the king of laughter at school and loves making everyone laugh, but a future as a comedian seems impossible because of his father's attitude. One day, a former comedian, Jun Tsujimoto, transfers from Osaka to his school. They see how interesting their ideas are and become interested in forming a stand-up duo. While trying to achieve their goal, other comedians seem to ignore Keisuke's abilities for one reason or another, and their motivation fluctuates, but even so, they want to become professionals together.

Masanori Morita launched the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2005 and finished it in March 2015. Shueisha published 19 compiled book volumes for the series. The manga is inspiring a new television series adaptation that will premiere in July.

Morita also created the manga Rookies, which inspired a live-action television series in 2008, and Rookies: Graduation in 2009.
