Black Clover fans have finally received the long-awaited news: the new season of the anime has been officially confirmed after a four-year wait. The announcement came during Crunchyroll at Anime Expo 2025 , accompanied by a teaser visual and an animated message from creator Yūki Tabata.

Yūki Tabata promises a powerful season

According to Tabata, the team is fully committed to this new phase of the series. He celebrated Black Clover's 10th anniversary by thanking fans for their years of support and assuring them that the season will be even more intense than the film Sword of the Wizard King , released in 2023.

Although there is still no set release date, the trailer has already caused a stir in the otaku community. After all, the previous season ended at a critical point in the story, further increasing the anticipation for its continuation. As promised, the production is being handled by Studio Pierrot , known for series such as Naruto and Bleach .

Why did Black Clover take so long to return?

Although no official statement has been released regarding the long hiatus, there are plausible reasons. Firstly, Studio Pierrot has been involved with several high-profile projects, which possibly led to delays. Furthermore, the break may have been strategic in allowing the manga to accumulate more chapters, preventing the anime from resorting to filler episodes.

Even with this hiatus, Black Clover remains among the most-watched anime on Netflix , reinforcing its global appeal. Therefore, its return promises to shake up the streaming rankings again and reignite the monstrous hype surrounding Asta and Yuno's journey.
