The official website for the film Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King ( Black Clover: Mahоotei no Ken ) announced this Friday that the film will therefore have its premiere postponed from March 31 to June 16 due to the spread of COVID-19 , which ended up affecting the production of the film and taking fans by surprise.

Additionally, Netflix has also confirmed that the film will premiere on the service on June 16.
As such, manga creator Yuki Tabata is serving as the film's chief supervisor and character designer. Likewise, members of the anime's staff will return for the film.

The anime adaptation of the manga therefore premiered in Japan in October 2017. The show was therefore originally listed with 51 episodes, but continued into a new season with episode 52 in October 2018 and then continued again into a new season in October 2019. The anime went on hiatus starting in April 2020 due to COVID-19, and then resuming in July 2020 with episode 133. The show aired its 170th and final episode in March 2021.
Finally, author Yuki Tabata launched Black Clover in Weekly Shonen Jump in February 2015.
Synopsis
Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King hints at a compelling story, featuring Conrad, the ancient Wizard King feared as evil, appearing alongside three previous Wizard Kings who were sealed away. Conrad possessed the Imperial Sword and attempted to destroy the Clover Kingdom after being revived. A young man who yearns for power, the Wizard King wages an endless war against his predecessors! The evil Magic Knights have rallied behind him as he challenges for the throne.
