The first major Call of Duty update of 2025, identified as patch 1,065,000, is now available for players. Among the new features, the crossover with the Round 6 series stands out as the highlight, introducing themed modes that combine tension and strategy. The update also includes improvements to movement, weapon adjustments, and the debut of a new Wildcard.

Despite the innovations, the community noted the lack of improvements to the anti-cheat system. Players expected advancements to curb cheaters, especially in Black Ops 6 and Warzone. Activision promised to address the issue in the game's second season, but the wait may frustrate the most dedicated fans.

Modes inspired by Round 6 add tension and strategy
They introduced two new game modes as part of the crossover. The first, "Red Light, Green Light," pits players against each other in a head-to-head competition in the Red Card stadium, recreating the challenge seen in the South Korean series. The mode challenges participants to follow commands while avoiding movements at prohibited times, with weapons only available in the final rounds.
The other highlight is the "Pentathlon," a mode that mixes variants of classic games like Kill Confirmed and Domination with new additions. Among them are "Piggy Bank Team Deathmatch," in which eliminations contribute to a large prize contested between teams, and "Roulette," which combines risk and reward with a high-impact weapon that can be lethal to the player themselves.
On the other hand, Round 6's Moshpit combines elements from both modes, such as the "Red Light, Green Light" scorestreak, which paralyzes enemies, and the Roulette Handgun, a high-risk weapon.
New features expand possibilities in Multiplayer and Zombies
In addition to the crossover, the update brought important changes. Among them, the new Wildcard High Roller, which allows equipping up to four simultaneous scorestreaks. Climbing speed has been increased, and players can now open or close doors while running, improving the fluidity of combat.
The Zombies mode also received updates, with the Citadelle des Morts map receiving adjustments to the main mission progression and the efficiency of special weapons. Inspired by the crossover, the "Dead Light, Green Light" mode adds essence bonuses for eliminating zombies at specific moments.

Community reacts to lack of improvements in anti-cheat
Despite the additions, the lack of updates to the anti-cheat system has generated criticism. However, Activision faces pressure to deal with the rise in cheaters, who harm both casual players and professional competitors. With the promise of solutions in Season 2, it remains to be seen if the measures will meet expectations. The update, at 2,699 GB on PS5, brings significant improvements, but leaves challenges pending.
