The new anime franchise Black Rock Shooter (Dawn Fall) will have around 12 episodes , according to the series' Blu-ray package. According to the official website, the series premiered on April 3rd in Japan.

The BLACK★★ROCK Shooter franchise began with an illustration posted on pixiv by huke on December 26, 2007.The illustration inspired a song of the same title made by the developer supercell using Hatsune Miku as a Vocaloid. The franchise later gained an OVA adaptation anime in 2012 ,as well as manga, games , and even figures.
