Black Torch gets a new trailer with theme songs

The anime Black Torch has received a new promotional video that reveals the series' opening and ending theme songs. The preview also highlights new scenes from the adaptation of Tsuyoshi Takaki's manga, increasing anticipation for its premiere scheduled for July 4, 2026.

New trailer showcases the anime's music

The opening theme will be “Freeze Me Up,” performed by the Japanese band SiM. The closing theme will be I Don't Like Mondays, with the song “Groooovy.” Both tracks can be heard in the new promotional video released by the production team.

Furthermore, a new official visual for the anime has been released, revealing the main characters of the supernatural storyline. The series will also have its world premiere during Anime Expo 2026 before its television broadcast in Japan.

Cast and production team

The 100Studio is producing the adaptation, directed by Kei Umabiki. Gigaemon Ichikawa is in charge of the animation script, while the soundtrack is composed by Yutaka Yamada, known for his work on Tokyo Ghoul.

The story follows Jiro Azuma, a descendant of a shinobi lineage who possesses the ability to communicate with animals. His life changes drastically after encountering a mysterious cat that merges with his body, granting him extraordinary powers and drawing him into a secret war against dangerous spirits.

Originally published in Jump Square magazine between 2016 and 2018, the manga concluded in five volumes. Now, Crunchyroll streams the Black Torch anime in various regions around the world.
