Surprisingly, science fiction fans gained an unexpected gift: Netflix has released the new Blame trailer! Tsutomu Nihei 's cult . The production, which arrives in 2017, will be animated by Polygon Pictures , the same responsible for Knights of Sidonia (Sidonia no Kishi) , thus ensuring a visual quality that promises to impress.

First, it is worth remembering that Blame! It was originally published between 1997 and 2003 in Monthly Afternoon , conquering readers with their dark ambience and enigmatic narrative. In the plot, we follow Killy , a man of few words that wanders tirelessly for a huge futuristic maze. While facing hostile cyborgs and bizarre creatures, its sole purpose is to find the mysterious Net Terminal genes , something crucial to the survival of humanity.

A dark and intriguing universe

In addition, Killy's journey stands out for her lonely tone and oppressive atmosphere. As advanced by the desolate and industrial scenarios, he uses a weapon of devastating power, throwing without hesitation in the face of any threat. As with other works by Nihei, grandiose scenarios and endless structures create a feeling of smallness before a dehumanized and chaotic world.

Interestingly, the most attentive fans had already seen a preview of Blame! In the 8th episode of the second season of Knights of Sidonia , where a special animation was aired as an "Easter Egg". Therefore, complete adaptation finally represents an opportunity for new audiences to know the depth and unique aesthetics of the work.

In addition, the involvement of Polygon Pictures reinforces the expectation of a technically bold animation, mixing CGI with an artistic style faithful to Nihei's original trait. Although the trailer does not reveal all the details of the plot, it already makes it clear that the dark and futuristic essence will be preserved.
